I love being married and having Sam as my husband! We've had so much fun putting our apartment together and making meals together and just being with each other in OUR apartment! Fun is the word! And we just got a calling in our ward which i was SOOO pumped about up until last night! We are going to be sunday school teachers for 14 and 15 yr olds! Sam's aunt Tae Lahi used to teach the class and she said the kids are HORRIBLE! (they are all a bunch of tongan brats who think they are too cool for school. some even think they are black...i don't get why they cant be happy with being brown!) And she told us some of the parents told her to hit their kids if they misbehaved, so she did! She'd take a yardstick with her every week and wack whoever was being a pain! Can you believe this?!?! Yikes.... So now I'm a bit nervous about the whole calling. Maybe they'll be better with Sam in the room, hopefully he'll intimadate some of the boys!
Anyway...moral of the story is I LOVE SAM and I love being married and I'm nervous about my calling!
THE END

dont let yourself get a preconceived notion about the class or the kids. you pray for the Spirit and you guys will find a way to work with them. Have fun with them, make it interesting- no offense to his aunt, but if you were 14/15 would you rather be hit with a yardstick and threatened to listen to a class taught by an older lady- or have class be fun and have respect from and for your teachers cuz they understand you more and are young and cool. they may be brats- but do what you can to be understanding of them/be a friend- but still lay down the law. you guys will do great!
I agree with what Andrea said. You will do fine if you go with a sincere desire to be good teachers. And yes, it's important to be their friends, but be teachers and examples first. They need love, not a yardstick. And by the way, I had a real hard time reading the blue on the gray. Is that just cause I'm getting old or what?
at least your not a relief society teacher... count your lucky stars!!!!
I say ditto to the other wise women of the fam... I've taught MiaMaids and they are bratty, but don't take it personal and just love them.
I must be getting old to cause I couldn't read it very easily either...
