Yesterday morning I was doing my hair and I ran my fingers through my hair after I had blown it dry and I felt a bump on the side of my head, right above my temple...I didn't know what it could be so I decided to check it out! I moved my hair out of the way and saw a little black thing on my scalp. So I tried picking it off and it wouldn't move, so I put my thumb underneath and popped it off, and a FREAKING(sorry mom) BUG landed on the counter in front of me! I yelped and ran across the room! I didn't dare go back over to the counter for a few mins, but I got up the nerve and slowly creeped back over and the bug was still there in the same place. I poked it a few times with a safety pin and it didnt move, so I hurried and put my hairspray bottle on top of it so it couldn't move just in case it was alive! EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! I was so creeped out! I wrote my sister Andrea a text and she was telling me how disgusting I was, hello, it wasn't MY fault! :) Anyway, I sent her a picture of it that I took on my phone, and she showed her friend at work and she said that it was a TICK and that I should go get checked out for lyme disease! And that the stupid head of the tick could still be stuck in me...cuz they stick their heads under the skin and suck blood!
HELLLLOOOO!! Are you kidding me?! I was freaking out. How disgusting! I had a minor freak out moment to say the least....Sam was able to get off work yesterday at 5 so he came home not long after I got home from work and was such a comfort to me! He's kind of an expert with bugs cause he sold/sprayed homes for pest control last summer! So he checked my head to make sure the head of the tick wasn't still stuck in me( i was too chicken to check myself!) and he said it was just a little red but nothing else! So THAT relieved me some, and then he researched some stuff online and found out it was an American Dog Tick that decided to hang out on my head. And they are the smallest and least dangerous kind of ticks so that was also a relief! So after we put the tick in a ziploc, and after Sam gave me lots of hugs and after we washed all our sheets and pillowcases, I finally felt better and quit itching and jumping at every little thing that touched my skin! PHEW!
So luckily I won't get lyme disease and I won't die. Thank heavens!!
In closing, I would like to thank my mom and sister for being my support group while Sam was at work. :)
