emotions, emotions, emotions

I have a million billion emotions going on inside my pregnant body lately...I don't even know where to start, so I'm not even going to attempt to!! But a few major things on my mind lately have been that my cute dad has been gone for 17 years. I can't even believe it. I thought his death would get easier and easier every year, but I've found as I've gotten older and gotten to new phases in my life, it only gets harder and harder. I remember being so sad about him not being there when I got married, but that morning in the sealing room I KNOW he was there with all of us, and I know he was so proud of me and Sam for getting sealed in the temple. His spirit was so strong there, and I think I cried more about that than actually getting married and being scared outta my mind! And when I think about him not being around to hold our sweet baby I get pretty emotional too... But I know that little baby is hanging out with him right now and that my Dad will be last person to kiss and hug him/her before we do!! It's SOOOOOO amazing and reassuring to know that I WILL see him again someday, and that my sweet mom will have her husband around again. I cannot even imagine going thru what my mom has been thru in these last 17 years. She has dealt with more than most women her age, I'm sure, and she's done it all with unwavering faith and with a smile on her face. She's my inspiration...I love her so much. Dad was a lucky dude :)
Another biggie on my mind is our baby.. we find out TOMORROW what we're having!! I've known my whole pregnancy that we'd find out the sex of our baby, but for some reason, when I scheduled my ultrasound last week I got overwhelmed! I feel so anxious and nervous and scared and unsure! It's more and more real every day. Don't get me wrong, I'm so so so so so so excited to be a mom and for Sam to be a dad, but I'M SOOOOOO SCARED at the same time!!! It's a ginormous step that I hope we're ready for and can handle! Thank goodness we both have amazing families and friends to help us out along the way!
Anyway...I guess that is all for now. I will DEFINITELY be posting about if its a little Sam or Amy here in the next few days, and hopefully will have some pictures to show off as well! :)

Oh, and, totally exciting...I just went to Target and bought me 2 cute maternity shirts, a new skirt, a pack of diapers, and 2 shirts for Sam...for 50 buckaroos. Yes, I'm amazing..simply amazing. Ok, now watch the commercial...hopefully somebody finds it as funny as I do.. :)

K so I'm gonna add a few other ones that I think are funny as well...

Blessed

Last night was rough...we got some unexpected hospital bills(from the time I had to go get a CT scan and meds for an awful migraine) and it really got me down. Oh, they were unexpected because we thought our insurance was covering it all...come to find out, they aren't. So I was home alone, missing Sam while he was at work, knowing I'm not going to see him much this week cause I'm working a total of 52 hours, and let's just say my emotions got the very best of me. I lost it. I was crying like a baby. And ya know how it is, one thing bums ya out, and then you're able to think of a million other reasons to get even MORE bummed...yes. I did that. I was STRESSING about our baby, worrying about being able to save enough money so that I can take 4-5 weeks off work when it comes, and having enough to buy all the things we'll need..that in itself is enough to overwhelm me! But then I started to fret about if I'm really cut out to be a mom...I know I have a ton of experience with kids, and know I can handle 5 kids, 6 yrs and younger, but I'm able to leave at the end of the day, and go home to my quiet apartment and do my own thing...so I often wonder if the Lord knew what he was doing when he decided it was time for us to have a baby. (ok, I totally don't REALLY think that...obviously I know He did, and I know we won't face anything we can't handle.....but sometimes I have a hard time fully grasping and understanding that.....) And then I started to get sad that my mom and sisters are so far away and won't be able to be at the hospital with me and stuff like that. My mom is going to come down for a bit to help out, but it's gonna be super hard for me when she has to leave. I get choked up thinking about now....oh brother, I'm emotional. Anyway, so last night wasn't my best of nights. But I talked to my amazing mom, and my in tune with the Spirit husband, and was able to calm down. I have such a strong testimony of tithing, so I don't know why I always seem to stress about having enough money..isn't that retarded??? We ALWAYS make it and ALWAYS have enough, you'd think I'd learn to chill out a little... But they both reminded me to have faith and as long as we're doing our part, the Lord will take care of us. And GOSH that is so true, and I know it!!!!!!! I really do know it. I just need to ALWAYS remember it cause it's so reassuring and comforting. Anyway, so I was laying in bed trying to sleep, and I started thinking that even if we do have a lot of stinkin bills to pay, and even if we won't have the fanciest and nicest things for our baby, and even if we don't have the biggest apartment, and even if we do live 13 hours away from my family and on and on and on....I have SOOO SOOO SOOO much to be thankful for. I started naming things off in my head and even though I was feeling much better, it helped me out even more!!! Here are a FEW things that I thought about...

-I have an amazing family who is always there for me, and I married into a great family as well. We've got it made on both sides :)

-I have the best job in the world. Seriously, who else gets to go and play with 5 ADORABLE kids all day, and get paid for it?

-We have a cute little apartment...its really little, but its all we need. Even with a new baby here in a few months, it'll be enough! And it's a place we can always go and feel 'at home' and feel the Spirit there. How great is that?! Pretty darn great if ya ask me...

-I married the most amazing human being on earth. Now, Sam and I have had our very fair share of struggles..and ya know what? I'm actually thankful for them. I can honestly say that...it's just brought us closer and we've grown a crazy amount even in the last 6-7 months. And even more since we found out about little Levatau...Sam is such a great husband and Priesthood holder. I love that I can ask for a blessing at any time and not have to worry or wonder if he's worthy. I love that he's always so on top of us paying our tithing and fast offerings. He's my best friend in the whole world. He makes me smile and laugh every day. I know he's going to make an amazing dad, and I can't wait to see him hold our tiny little baby in his great big arms... Don't mean to brag, but I did a dang good job in picking out a husband! :)

-We both have great callings, in a great ward that we both LOVE! We never wanna leave...

-We are lucky enough to own 2 really good, dependable cars. Not many people have one dependable car, and we have 2!

-I'm lucky enough to have a little tiny person growing inside of me...the little tiny person has made me real sick a lot of times, but I'm already so so so so so in love with our baby. I can't wait to find out if its a little girl or boy...but every day I fall more and more in love with him/her. And I know it is such a blessing for us to be able to have a baby come into our lives.

-Sam and I both have the best friends anyone could ever ask for and know we can call them anytime for anything.

-I'm so thankful for my eternal marriage, and that Sam and I will be together forever. And that the little family that we are starting to create will be eternal as well. Aaand, that I'll be able to see my Dad again someday.

-I'm really thankful for AC in my apartment, car and at work because its 89 degrees here today and its like death. I can't even imagine it getting 20 degrees hotter here...I just might die this summer from the darn heat.

I have so so many more blessings in my life, but I'll stop there before I get too carried away...you all get the point. :) I'm a very lucky girl and the last thing I need to do is feel sorry for myself...a lot of people have it a lot worse than me. I'm glad that I had a downer night so that I could sit and think about my life and how seriously blessed I am...

14 weeks and 23 years!

Saturday we celebrated my 23rd birthday, and my 14th week of pregnancy! Neither thing is too crazy exciting, but oh well. :) Sam and I went out together Friday morning before we worked and had lunch and we went and picked out my birthday present...a new CAMCORDER! I'm so excited about it! I've wanted one for awhile now, and when we found out I was pregnant, then I really wanted one!
This is the one we ended up getting.. it's sooo fun! All the videos go on a little SD card, so we can stick the card right in our computer and upload the videos! It's super fun.
Sam also got me the Leona Lewis CD, and I LOOOOOVE it! I almost have the whole thing memorized :) So I had a good birthday eve with Sam. I love that boy lots! I had to work at 1 that day and I barely had time to walk in the door before all the kids came running to me so excited for me to open my birthday presents from them! They were soo cute, they went to Build A Bear and made me a bear with a little bear ipod, and if you squeeze his foot he sings happy birthday. They named him Mr. Beary Chocolate Hamster...exactly what I would have named him! :) They were so happy about it and kept telling me that I can give it to my baby when it gets here! They also got me a pretty crystal heart paper weight type thing that says "Amy Super Rocks" on it. They got to pick out what it said and the font and color, so they were pretty excited about that too! And they also gave me a pretty candle from bath and body works! Fun! It was so cute and I felt soo special!
On my actual birthday, Sam and I got up early and drove down to Tucson so Sam could work at a fair with his family. I just hung out in a hotel room most the day with a few our nieces and nephews and Sam's mom. It was nice, we had lunch and then took a 2 hour nap! It was great! After the fair we all went to a casino for my birthday dinner... it was all you can eat seafood buffet and OH MY WORD all those tongan guys went CRAZY on all the food! I just kind of sat there and stared in amazement. :) But we had a fun night..and all in all it was a pretty good birthday! No complaints from me!!
Like I said earlier, Saturday was also my 14th week of pregnancy! Which means....I only have 3-5 more weeks til we find out what we're having.... and only 4 more weeks til I'm half way thru being pregnant! Crazy! I can't wait to get my first ultrasound and find out what we're having!!! This is what's up with my baby this week...I get a weekly update from a 3D pregnancy website and this is what it says...
Your baby now has fingerprints! Book 'em, Danno! Believe it or not, he actually created them himself while swimming around in the amniotic fluid. As he moved his hands, the skin on the tips of his fingers formed unique ridges and folds. That's why no one on earth has the same fingerprints, not even identical twins! Cool, right? Baby's arms are now in proportion to his tiny body, but his legs are still on the short size in comparison.Meconium, that tar-like, sticky first baby poop, is now loading up your baby's intestines, which means you might want to set aside a bottle of olive oil, one of the few things that will get the gooey poop off of baby's bottom. Your baby continues to gain new and impressive skills such as practicing and controlling voluntary muscle movements (this will help him fling food across the room later in life). Your tiny dancer's movements are no longer the jerky, uncontrollable twitches of yore—he now moves with graceful control. Your baby is now weighs about an ounce and is the length of a flip phone, or roughly 3.5 inches—he's tripled in size from a mere three weeks ago! Luckily, you haven't done the same.
...Pretty exciting right? :)
And speaking of babies, here are a few more pictures of baby Sophie...gosh, I just can't get enough of her! She's too too cute! Oh, and another speaking of babies.. one of my best friends Amanda had her baby on the 18th! She had a little girl named Addelyn. SHE is stinkin' cute too! I can't wait to go see her in a few weeks!! OK, so back to Sophie..here she is..

babyutahhospitalwork

So, it's been awhile.....
Nothing fun or interesting has been going on with us, so I've felt no need to write! But I guess I'll do a little update since I have nothing better to do right now! Sam started working for US Airways Feb. 16th and his schedule SUCKS and I hate it...but, we are both so grateful for his job and the awesome benefits we get. So we are putting up with the crap schedule. He works mon-fri, 3-11:30pm. So basically we never see each other. I go to work in the mornings, so he's usually asleep when I leave, and then I'm asleep when he gets home! And he's been working a lot for his family on the weekends...so we REALLY never see each other. But oh well..such is life. We kinda like each other so we put up with it :)

I had my first doctor appointment Feb 26th and it was great! Sam was able to go with me so we both got to hear our baby's heartbeat! It was pretty amazing...the whole us having a baby thing, became a lot more real. I still get really overwhelmed when I stop and think, Ok...I'm having a baby....there's a baby growing in me right now.... Yeah it just happened again. Overwhelming. I couldn't be happier or more excited, but geez it's a lot to take in still! My next appointment is the 27th of this month and I'm really looking forward to it. I can't wait to have an ultrasound done and find out what we're having...we still have another 6 weeks before that happens though. That's about it on the baby update... I'm feeling quite a bit better. I'm not sick to my stomach all the time, so that's nice. I still feel tired a lot, and could sleep all day, but I'm getting used to that. So I've gone to feeling like I'm going to barf every 2 seconds....to gagging every 2 seconds. I gag ALLL the time. Especially when I'm hungry. So I try to eat every few hours, but NOTHING ever sounds good. Except for roast and potatoes...but that ALWAYS sounds good. :) So it's hard for me to want to eat when everything sounds gross, but I have to or else I'll gag to death. And all the sudden, in the last few days, I've felt so extremely fat, way more fat than I normally feel. Which weirds me out cause I eat way less now than I did before I was pregnant. I thought it'd be the opposite....?? Anyway, so I'm thinking it's about that time to go buy a few new shirts and a belly band. Good thing my bday is coming up.. speaking of, for those of you who don't know when it is, it's the 21st, which is Saturday. So be thinking of what to get me..it's only a few days away!

Let's see..what else... Oh yes, last Tuesday night I was sound asleep, and woke up and felt REEEEEEALLLY sick, so I sat up and before I could do anything else I threw up all over our comforter. Gross gross gross, I know. But it seriously came on so fast I didn't have time to move! So I got our sheets and comforter in the washer and went back to bed. I had a killer headache so I had a really hard time sleeping. Anyway, I went to work Wednesday and still had a bad headache but just tuffed it out. I stopped by the grocery store on my way home and felt like I was going to throw up again so I literally ran to the bathroom and barfed my brains out. Pretty, right? And I dunno about everyone else, but throwing up is so exhausting to me... So I went home and got in bed. I wanted to get our apt cleaned up and get packed for my little trip to Utah that I was supposed to leave for Thurs afternoon, but I felt so so crappy I couldn't do anything. And all I did from about 6 to 9 was throw up. I talked to Sam on one of his breaks and told him how awful I felt, so he called his sister Salo to come get me and take me to Urgent Care. But all the urgent cares were closed, so she took me to the hospital..which I did NOT want to go to, but I felt so bad I knew I needed something. I thought I had a migraine and that's what was making me so sick. So we got to the hospital at like 930 and waited til 1030 to be seen by the doc...he told me he wanted me to get a head CT scan since I've had several migraines before and never gotten checked out. So I had to go back to the waiting room and wait til about 1 am to get the CT scan, and they also gave me an IV for dehydration and some meds to help my head. Oh, Sam came to be with me after work and Salo went home.. I was so glad he was there with me, he's such a comfort to me. Anyway, so I got an IV, and then at like 2:30 the took us to a room with a bed and a tv, so I could finally lay down and sleep and Sam sat next to the bed and held my hand and watched sports. A doc came in around 3:30 and told me the CT scan was normal, and my brain looked beautiful...such a compliment. He gave me a paper to go get a prescription for some medicine to help settle my stomach and to help me sleep off the migraine. So we got home at about 4am. I woke up at 8 to go get my prescription then went back to sleep and we were both OUT til 1pm. Sam had to go to work, and I just stayed in bed and slept the rest of the day, and all thru the night. I was supposed to fly to Utah that afternoon like I said, but we changed my flight to Friday morning.. I felt SOOOOOOOOOO much better so I was able to go. I got to Utah at 1030 fri morning and Andrea picked me up and we went up to Aaron and Cyndie's to see little baby Sophie. SHE IS SOO STINKIN PRECIOUS. I have some really cute pictures, so I'll have to upload those later. We nibbled on her and fought over who got to hold her for a few hours then went back to Anneke's. Then all of us girls went out to dinner at Wingers. Brad came up and we played Cranium and had some good laughs. Saturday Ammon's girls came over and played for a few hours and it was so fun to see them too! Andrea and Brad came back at 2 and we had a yum BBQ and and just hang out and visited! It was a fun day. I love love love spending time with my family...the only thing that would have made it better is if I could have seen my Mom and if Sam would have been there with me! But it was a fun short trip... I flew back here to arizona early sunday morning in time for church! I slept most the afternoon cause Sam was working, and that's about it! PHEW!

So there you have our life story... :) Sorry it's so long and boring, but what can ya do?! I'll put up some pictures from Utah soon! So until then....adios!
