1 year

Me and Sam got engaged a year ago last Sunday, the 5th of Oct...it's so stinkin crazy to me to think that it's been THAT long! I know it's only been a year, but I still remember every single second of that day...I hope I never forget it!

It was such a perfect day...it was a Friday, and we had been wanting to go to the DC Temple and see the Joseph Smith movie for quite some time, so we had made plans to go that night. It was about a 45 min drive from my house in Dumfries, and the whole way there Sam was acting SO weird! He kept wiping his hands on his pants and taking deep breaths....I asked if he was okay and he said, "yeah, I feel kind of sick though" And I was like Ok then let's go back to my house, we don't need to go tonight! But he insisted he'd be okay, so we still went! We got there and watched the movie, which was amazing, and then we walked out in front of the temple because I wanted to get a picture of the Temple at night. So we were walking by this pretty fountain, and Sam stopped and was real figgity and weird, so I was like, "Um, are you okay?!" And then he said, "I know how much you love me, right?" And he totally meant to say, You know how much I love you, right? :) (he was really nervous..) But I knew what he meant, AND I knew what was comin, so then I got all weird and nervous!! But then he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him! And DUUUUH I said yes! And I cried, hugged him a lot...and cried some more. :) It was dark outside, so I couldn't really see the ring, so I had to crouch down by a little light that was lighting up the sidewalk to even see it. I loved it. We had gone ring shopping and I picked out the ring I loved, just one diamond on a plain band, but Sam picked out a different ring for me, which I love a lot more..! So good job to Sam on that one! So we stood there and hugged (and kissed..:) ) and I cried for a bit, then we went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. That's one of our favorite places to eat, and the food was especially good that night! haha. The waitress spilled my strawberry lemonade all over my lap, which sucked, but I didn't really even care. I was too busy admiring my ring, and calling Sam my Fiance! It was a perfect perfect night.
So that was a Friday, then on Saturday we spent the whole day together and watched conference and some of my friends came over to see my ring and to say bye to Sam, cuz he was leaving to go back home to AZ Sunday morning, which was the SADDEST DAY OF MY LIFE. Seriously, it was so so so so hard to drop him off at the airport...I cried the whole way there, the whole time we were saying bye, and the whole way home, and pretty much the whole month of October! Oh man, it was rough. But luckily I had awesome friends to keep me busy and happy, and the month flew by and I got to see him again on Nov 2nd!
Anyway, that's our little engagement story! I'm so so so happy he asked ME to marry HIM!! I'm so thankful for all of the things that had to happen in both of our lives in order for us to meet, date, get engaged and then get married! I love Sam like crazy...we've had some rough patches, but we've overcome them and become such a stronger couple who love each other even more! I love him more and more everyday, didn't think that was even possible, but it is.
